Student Voices from Achieve Academy

Achieve Academy helps students grow as confident learners and leaders in a close-knit, supportive community. Serving grades K–8, Achieve is an Expeditionary Learning school where belonging, connection, and academic growth are part of everyday learning.

Learning at Achieve is hands-on and meaningful, with interdisciplinary projects, real-world experiences, and a strong focus on literacy and academic rigor. Daily PACK time and monthly Community Meetings help students reflect, connect, and share their voices, with values like integrity, perseverance, advocacy, and respect shaping each school day.

Achieve Academy Visits Preschool on Poze!

For the last two months, Achieve students have been studying birds and, for the final project of their unit, they wrote riddle books about their favorite ones. Students researched birds like penguins, hummingbirds, and bluejays using textbooks and an app, and then wrote and illustrated their books.

Achieve students visited Preschool on Poze to read their riddles and let preschoolers offer their best guesses as to what kind of bird they were describing.

Writing the books made the Achieve students even more invested in their unit and reading to the preschoolers was a good service project. As an Expeditionary Learning (EL) school, Achieve ensures that its students are active members of their community.

Achieve Academy is a K-8 Expeditionary Learning (EL) school strongly rooted in developing leaders. Students at Achieve engage in rigorous and meaningful work in every lesson! Through strong relationships, in-depth projects, and a focus on student voice, all students participate in opportunities to explore, embrace, and enhance their leadership skills. Students master standards through in-depth explorations of content, as active members of their community.

September is Attendance Awareness Month in Mapleton!

Every day matters in Mapleton! Good attendance plays a crucial role in a student’s educational journey, serving as a key predictor of academic achievement and social development. In Mapleton, it's our goal to have students attend school at least 95% of the time – missing no more than nine days a year for any reason.
